The problem of high Spirituality has always and in all times been a problem of searching for such combinations of idea and the form, those poetical, artistical means which would fully express the pure jist of these space-time connections of historical events.
On the edge of the 2nd-3d millennium this high Spirituality becomes one of the most important problems of not only a certain nation, people, continent, but first of all one of the vital problems of the whole humankind. For nowadays the only means to unite people for the sake of life saving on Earth, is the power of Spirituality and Belief, revealing its main idea: Kindness, Justice, the basic moral principle:
forgiveness to the weak, patience to those thinking differently. The main emotional-esthetical centre of the Memorial is its symbol - sculptural composition "GOLGOTHA" representing itself a stylized cmcifix naturally growing up from the Traian Column, embraced by endless band - the Crucifixion Way.
This huge monumental erection after the author's belief, should embrace and reflect the whole history ofmoldovan people, with all the endless scenes of the big historical drama of tins land: wars, robbery, opress, poverty, deportations and genocide, fire and blood, as well as fates of european people, similar to moldovan both by cultural roots and the objectivity of the very historical involvement.
In the presented "PEOPLE GOLGOTHA" memorial project there stood quite a new problem before the author: keeping traditions of Roman plastic which naturally mix with the characters and principles of Moldovan art, to create his own plastic form that would become the reflection of historical drama not only by its form and contents but also by quite different parameters: as if existing out of Time and Space - a sort of a monument to Everlasting, everlasting ideas of Jesus Christ in the rays ofsacrity over Ins body, accumulating all human pain, saving Humankind from the death. In fact this is the main idea of the Memorial - a Symbol reflection of the Sacrity, the Truth, the spiritual Beginning, which are needed now by those alive.
Spectators begin moving to the Memorial from the foot of the hill by the semiround square, gathering spectators.
On the perimeter of the square on the left and on the right from the centre are given relief descriptions in white stone - themes from Old and New Testament.
Then from the square spectators make their way up the platform steps, i.e. natural hilly area. This way symbolically reminds of Christ's way to Golgotha with its winding serpentine terraces. This kind of way creates a gradual viewing of the whole complex when getting nearer to it. After coming up to the exiemal memorial ground spectator stops at the entrance of the so-called "Wall of Cry", representing itself two symmetrical pilons, making up a space of 5 metres width, 7 metres high in the centre.
These sculptural-architectural forms with symbolic description of stylized angels on both sides of the entrance, holding a big crown of thorns of Christ, casted in bronze and covered with pure gold. Its diameter is 3.5 metres. The pilons have the
form of stylized wings, narrowing down, what gives them the more monumentality. Deep lines - slots on white stone on wings, going to the centre, to the crown of thorns, create the rythm of smirays coming from the crown, what makes both the deeper psychological influence over the spectator and a special meaning and celebration of the spectator passing through this "Spiritual cleaning". After passing the "Wall of Cry" spectator finds himself on its internal ground. On pilons inside the "Wall of Cry" are made granite stone platforms with the names of those who gave their lives for freedom and independence of Moldova, those who was shot, deportated, who was the participant of all historical events.
Searching for these names will be held with the consideration of the demands and statutes of governmental bodies, through certain science-exploration institutions of the history of the country, its cultural societies and centres of Moldova, other European countries in order to forsee mistakes and uncertainties of any information.
After seeing the "Wall of Cry" spectator goes up the staircase of 5 metres width to the square hill "Golgotha", in the centre of which its main symbol is erected - the crucifix with the figure of Jesus Christ of 20 metres high (in bronze ).
The number 20 means 20 Sufferings of the human soul. The Golgotha Square has diametre of 33 metres - the age of Jesus Christ.
The basis of the composition - a pedestal of granite, represents itself a round pyramidal form narrowing up at the foot of the column. Down the pedestal the description of Luchafarul is given, in the space of which after the author's belief, should be placed stones-blocks, carried from the places of deportations, prisons, shooting.
In this case - the basis of the Symbol becomes a biological field of existance of people souls, not only living on this land, but also those who directly or by implication are involved in this historical drama; thus its space-time biography becomes larger.
The first lowest theme of topic bareliefis the highest, the last one on the Traian Column in Rome. From this last theme like a connecting chain of Time are given themes of the whole period, beginning from the 1st century A.D. untill nowadays. The most significant of them, as e.g.: "Conclusion of Peace between Romans and Dakes". "Life and activity ofMoldovan mitropolits: Varlaam, Dosoftei, Banulescu-Bodony, Movila and other church servants", the theme of the war with Ottoman Imperia, "Gospodars of Moldova", Petru Raresh, Stephan the Greate, Vasile Lupu and others", theme of outstanding thinkers, philosofers, scientists, people of culture of Moldova, theme of Moldova getting free from Ottomans, "Shipca" and "Plevna", "The 1st World War", "The 2nd World War" (genocide, deportations ). The theme of today: "Democratic movement in Moldova", "Development of freedom and democracy", "Moldovan integration into the Commonwealth of European countries" and so on.
On the opposite part of "Golgotha" Square deep in the centre of the Memorial, author projects a temple square with the level of 1 metre high over "Golgotha" Square, where he thinks to build a capella "God's Golgotha" or a 3 ark bellfry. The monument to peace, not to war being able as the author believes to unite people, and in this context being the accumulation of the Memory of the whole human epoch, different times.
For future generations it wil become that sociable environment necessary for Moldovan humanistic traditions revival, its free enlightenment, development of the national culture, where an individual effort of moral order is needed to make an influence over political and economical behaviour of each personality living in the Republic.
